The latest glitz and stunning photos of Canadian fashion model Winnie Harlow who gained prominence in 2014 as a contestant on the twenty-first cycle of the U.S. television series America’s Next Top Model.
The 26-year-old fashion model stunned audiences on Sunday as she made an incredible appearance to present the award for the ‘Best Latin Artist’ at the MTV Europe Music awards.
“Catch me presenting the award for the Best Latin Artist at the @MTVEma tonight.” Winnie shared on Instagram ahead of the show on Sunday morning.
Winnie later shared her gorgeous looks after hitting the red carpet. “What does a “Red Carpet” look like now?” she wrote as a caption of the photos.
Winnie is the Instagram sensation who was discovered by America’s Next Top Model host Tyra Banks on Instagram, and subsequently became one of the fourteen finalists of the twenty-first cycle in 2014. She was the only Canadian ever cast on ANTM.
Her chronic skin condition vitiligo, a condition in which the skin loses its pigment cells which can result in discolored patches in different areas of the body, including the skin, hair and mucous membranes, didn’t stop her from achieving her dreams of becoming a model and actress.
It was reported that throughout her childhood, Winnie was a victim of bullying by other children and was reportedly called a “cow, zebra, and all manner of other disparaging slurs” by students both black and white.
She had to change schools numerous times due to the harassment. She once contemplated committing suicide after dropping out of high school.
But grace found her and she regained her confidence in 2011 after posting a video titled “Vitiligo: A Skin Condition, not a Life Changer” on YouTube in which she talked about the condition and answered many questions about her life living with vitiligo.
Winnie was chosen as one of BBC’s 100 Women in 2016.
