[Turkey]. A three-year-old girl, Elif, was rescued this Monday morning from a collapsed building in the western Turkish city of İzmir almost three entire days after a powerful earthquake in the Aegean Sea that killed at least 85 people.
Elif was puled out by rescuers out of the rubble and was taken on a stretcher to an ambulance holding on tight to her rescuer’s hand as emergency crews searched for survivors in eight other buildings around the area.
Elif’s brother, mother and two sisters were also found alive in the wreckage on Saturday, but her brother later died in hospital while she, her mother and two sisters are receiving medical care. Aljazeera reported.
